In July, a group of us swapped the lab bench for the conference stage at the International AIDS Society (IAS) Conference in Munich. Armed with posters, presentations, and caffeine, we shared our latest research on HIV and immune responses with an international crowd. Some of us even sat on panels (and didn’t faint), asked smart questions (sometimes), and learned that networking is basically speed-dating for scientists.
We came home with fresh ideas, new contacts, and a deep respect for anyone who can survive five full days of back-to-back sessions without confusing their lanyard for a scarf.
