Digging into viral fitness is like entering a thrilling race against microscopic champions. I’m aiming to be the relentless contender, decoding their speedy maneuvers while striving to outpace their viral athleticism!

I joined the Schommers lab as a PhD student with a focus on molecular biology—where science meets precision, teamwork, and a touch of humor. It’s serious work, but if you can’t laugh at your 100th failed experiment, you’re not ready for the breakthrough that comes with the 101st—especially when you have a great team by your side!

With a background in microbiology, I have always enjoyed the small things in life - joining the Schommers Lab has deepened my fascination with HIV’s adaptability, making every day in the lab into an exciting puzzle to solve!

As a media designer turned molecular biomed student, am I as adaptive as the HI Virus yet?? Designing antibodies is almost as fun as designing figures (so for now I'll stick to the figures).

I joined the Schommers lab as a Postdoc in 2022 and currently playing ‘hide and seek’ with proviruses residing in the HIV latent reservoir. Besides playing this game in the lab, you will find me dancing Salsa and Bachata somewhere downtown, working on my DJing skills, or trying to see how much weight I can handle at the gym. As they said, you are the company you keep; just like the ever-evolving HIV, my interests keep changing, as I am now learning to make good cocktail mixes, and hopefully, will own a nice cocktail spot someday. Fingers crossed!

Med student exploring the potential of multispecific antibodies. Living in Germany's 'FC Region' is a great experience, even though playing soccer isn't really my thing; I'm more into exercising. Here's to a future where defeating cancer and HIV is as routine as smashing leg day.
